Fire Plan

Ways to reduce risk

Galley / Grill / Saloon

Use induction top instead of propane stovetop when vessel is in motion.

Do not overheat grease.

Contain grease drippings from falling onto the flames in the grill.

Keep flammable materials away from flames.

Do not smoke or use other personal devices capable of igniting a spark.

No candles.

Know where fire extinguishers and shut-off valves are located.

Electrical
Do not overloaded or poorly wired electrical systems and appliances.

Make sure that all wiring and electrical systems have been properly installed.

Engine and Storage

Do not allow engines/propulsion systems to overheat.
No rags in contact with the turbocharger or exhaust system.
Use proper refueling technique.
Keep the bilge and engine area clean.

Run the boats blower for at least four minutes after refueling, then sniff all compartments before starting the engine.

Flammable liquids are in sealed containers, away from potential sparks, and crew is aware of what and where they are located.
