Anchorages

· South channel range has wakes during the day and poor shore access.

· Ashley river has good reviews to ride out substantial knots (i.e. 30) and gusts (i.e. 40).

· Mile 469 and mile 465 has a bottom full of debris, every reviewer said not to anchor there since the debris from the bridge snags anchors and makes it necessary to cut and leave them there since they cannot be retrieved.

May 2023 we anchored next to the USS Yorktown.

Directions: Follow cooper river inlet to Charleston Harbor Marina.

Holding was good.

As stormy weather approached, the waves to dingy dock at Charleston Maritime Center made it too far and dangerous to reach by dingy. Lesson learned is to check all potential weather changes, even for a short window.

in 2023 dingy dock fee is $10 / day. I believe you pay on the second floor.
