Leonardtown, Maryland

This is a hidden gem. Town feels as charming and inviting as a Hallmark movie. People are friendly.

Dingy Dock: Plenty of space at the Wharf, with good cleats. It was about a 2 mile dingy ride from where we anchored to the wharf.

Restaurants: easy to walk to several of them in town.

Grocery: We walked 2.4 miles from the wharf to Food Lion. Point Lookout road is busy and there were sidewalks most of the way, there was a path in the grass for the other parts. The kayak trail ends close to the grocery store (and laundramat).

There are some smaller stores in the town close to the wharf.

There is a trolly on weekends that would take you from the wharf to the Food Lion.

True adventure to try next visit: take dingy to wharf, then either take inflatable kayaks or rent them and go to winery / kayak stop close to Food Lion and laundromat, and then kayak back.

Note as of 2023: Leonardtown Wharf future plans are to add water and pump out.
